“Our dog has vacationed with Rob for over 8 years, multiple times a year for stays as short as 3 nights and as long as 27 nights. We have complete confidence in Rob’s care. Our dog is elated to leave with Rob in the canine taxi and he is happy and healthy at every return home, sure signs that all is well as “dogs tails don’t lie”. Ours is a quiet household and the family attention and exercise at Dog-On Vacation is a welcome holiday for our dog boy. Rob has a good relationship with a competent, closeby veterinarian should anything come up. The dogs in Rob’s care have always been well behaved, I have observed them myself in the taxi. Rob ably managed giving medication and changing a bandage the few times required. “Hi Rob,
I notice a distinct change in Dakota since her stay with you. She is more attentive to me and more alert in general, starting to behave like the Aussie I expected (and the standard I knew years ago). Much more attentive in response to sudden sounds outside; less agitated once we actually pass other dogs; more relaxed about strangers petting her (once I encourage her). She was even somewhat less shy with my exhuberant little grandchildren.
Big change was on a road trip to visit family yesterday: normally she lies on the front passenger floor, hiding her head under the seat for the entire trip. Yesterday I stuffed the area beneath the seat so she couldn’t lie that way comfortably. She struggled with it going; but on the return trip she rested her head on the seat, eyes open, and seemed alert but relaxed.

“It is with great pleasure that I would recommend Rob Bowers and Dog-on Vacation. My dog, Einstein, clearly enjoys her time with Rob. When he arrives, she runs straight to his van to get in. Unfortunately, my dog has quite a few health issues and has needed some extra care while she was with Rob, but he has been wonderful at dealing with her. I can see from the photos he takes while she is there that she is playing and having such a good time with the other dogs. She seems to quite enjoy her “people” time as well, especially as she was able to share in some Thanksgiving dinner. It’s clear that Rob makes her feel like his home is her home.
Rob is professional and punctual and has made arranging for dog-sitting very easy. When I leave on vacation, I simply have no concerns or worries that Rob will do anything less than a great job and that she will return very happy (and quite tired, as well, which is a bonus.) I have recommended Dog-on Vacation to friends and they have been very pleased with their service and I’m sure would use Rob again as I will continue to do.”
